IBPS Clerk 2026 Last Date Extended to August 28: Apply Online for 11,403 Vacancies

Students who missed the earlier IBPS Clerk application deadline have received another chance. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has extended the online registration deadline for CRP CSA-XVI to 28 August 2026. The recruitment covers 11,403 indicative Customer Service Associate vacancies across participating public sector banks.

The useful part of this update is not only that the deadline has changed. If you are planning to apply now, you still need to check your age, graduation status, State or UT choice and local language carefully. A few extra days are helpful, but choosing the wrong State or submitting incomplete details can create a bigger problem later.

Vacancies 11,403
New Last Date 28 Aug 2026
Prelims 10-11 Oct
Main Exam 27 Dec
Important before you apply The extension gives candidates more time to register and pay the fee. It should not be treated as a reason to assume that every eligibility cut-off or other condition has also changed. Read the CRP CSA-XVI notification and the latest corrigendum before final submission.

What Exactly Changed in the IBPS Clerk Deadline?

The earlier application closing date was 21 August 2026. IBPS later issued a corrigendum for CRP CSA-XVI and the live application portal now shows 28 August 2026 as the closure date for registration. The portal also shows the same date for editing application details and online fee payment.

What changed
  • Online registration closes on 28 August 2026.
  • Application details can be edited up to 28 August on the live portal.
  • Online fee payment is available up to 28 August.
  • Application printing is shown up to 12 September 2026.
What you should not assume
  • Do not assume every eligibility date has automatically moved.
  • Do not change your State choice casually just because more time is available.
  • Do not depend on screenshots of old recruitment posts.
  • Use the latest IBPS portal and notification while filling the form.

IBPS Clerk 2026: Check Eligibility Before Paying the Fee

Banking forms look simple until students reach the State choice, category, qualification and language sections. It is better to spend five minutes checking eligibility before paying the application fee than to discover a problem after submission.

1
Do you have the required graduation qualification?
A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government is required.
2
Are you within the basic age limit?
The normal age range is 20 to 28 years as on 1 August 2026. Reserved and other eligible categories can receive upper-age relaxation according to the recruitment rules.
3
Have you checked the State or UT carefully?
IBPS CSA recruitment is State/UT based. Your choice affects the vacancies you compete for and the local language requirement, so do not select a State only because its vacancy number looks higher.
4
Are you comfortable with the required local language?
Local language proficiency can matter before joining the allotted bank. Check the language requirement of the State/UT you are applying for instead of treating this like an all-India post preference.
5
Is your computer knowledge in order?
Computer literacy is part of the eligibility requirements. Candidates should read the exact qualification condition in the detailed notification if they are unsure whether their certificate, degree or school/college study satisfies it.

IBPS Clerk Age Limit 2026

For the general age condition, candidates should be between 20 and 28 years as on 1 August 2026. In date-of-birth terms, the commonly stated range for candidates without relaxation is from 2 August 1998 to 1 August 2006, both dates inclusive.

Category Upper Age Relaxation
SC / ST 5 years
OBC - Non-Creamy Layer 3 years
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities 10 years

Other eligible categories, including specified ex-servicemen and certain women candidates, have separate relaxation rules. Check the official notification instead of calculating a relaxed age limit only from a third-party summary.

IBPS Clerk 2026 Application Fee

The application fee is different for reserved/specified categories and other candidates. Payment is made online. Before paying, check the preview carefully because the fee itself should not be the point where you discover that the State, category or personal information was entered incorrectly.

SC / ST / PwBD / ESM / DESM ₹175
All Other Candidates ₹850

Applicable online transaction charges may be extra. Always confirm the final amount displayed on the official payment page before completing the transaction.

How to Apply for IBPS Clerk 2026 Without Making a Last-Minute Mistake

The extra application window is useful, but waiting until the final evening is still unnecessary. Recruitment portals can become slow when many candidates try to register or pay at the same time. IBPS itself advises candidates to complete the process well before closing when the portal is under heavy load.

Open the official CRP CSA-XVI registration page Avoid searching for random "direct apply" pages and entering personal details on an unknown website.
Complete new registration Enter your basic details using an active mobile number and email address that you can access later.
Fill qualification, category and State/UT details slowly This is where speed is not useful. Match information with your certificates and check the local language linked to your chosen State.
Upload the required documents Keep your photograph, signature, thumb impression and handwritten declaration ready in the required format. The registration process also requires a live photograph.
Use the preview before payment Read your name, date of birth, category, State, educational details and uploaded files once again.
Pay the fee and save proof After successful payment, download or save the application form and e-receipt. Do not rely only on an SMS confirmation.

Documents to Keep Ready Before Opening the Form

A common last-day problem is not eligibility; it is having the wrong image size or searching for documents while the form is already open. The IBPS 2026-27 examination calendar lists the following upload ranges for the registration process:

  • Photograph: 20 KB to 50 KB in JPEG format
  • Signature: 10 KB to 20 KB in JPEG format
  • Thumb impression: 20 KB to 50 KB in JPEG format
  • Handwritten declaration: 50 KB to 100 KB in JPEG format
  • Live photograph: captured during the application process through supported webcam/mobile method

Use the specifications displayed on the live application portal if IBPS provides any updated instruction for CRP CSA-XVI.

Where Are the 11,403 IBPS Clerk Vacancies?

Vacancy numbers are useful, but they should not be the only reason for selecting a State. The total is distributed State/UT-wise and category-wise. Among the larger allocations are Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Gujarat.

Do Not Choose a State Only Because It Has More Vacancies

This is one place where a vacancy table can mislead beginners. A State with 1,000 vacancies is not automatically a better choice than a State with 400. Your category, local language, competition, eligibility and willingness to work in that State matter too.

For example, if a candidate understands Hindi well but cannot read or communicate in another State's required local language, chasing a larger vacancy number can create a problem at the language stage. Select the State you can genuinely satisfy the recruitment conditions for, then look at its category-wise vacancies.

IBPS Clerk 2026 Exam Dates After You Apply

Once the form is submitted, the deadline should stop being your main concern. The preparation window is not very long, especially for students who still need to improve calculation speed, reasoning accuracy or English.

Stage Date
Online Registration Started 1 August 2026
Extended Last Date 28 August 2026
Last Date for Application Print 12 September 2026
Preliminary Examination 10 & 11 October 2026
Main Examination 27 December 2026

Five Mistakes to Avoid in the Extended Application Window

1. Waiting for 28 August night

An extended deadline is not a second invitation to wait until the last few hours. Register and pay as soon as your documents are ready.

2. Selecting a State only after seeing the vacancy count

First check language and eligibility. Vacancy count comes after that.

3. Assuming the extension changed every cut-off date

A registration extension and an eligibility-rule change are two different things. Follow the latest official notification and corrigendum.

4. Uploading an unclear signature or photograph

Open every uploaded file in preview. A file can meet the KB limit and still be unreadable.

5. Closing the browser immediately after payment

Save the completed application and fee receipt. Keep the registration number and password somewhere safe because you will need them again.

What Should You Do Immediately After Applying?

Do not spend the next week watching recruitment-update videos.

Once your application is complete, switch from notification mode to preparation mode. Prelims is scheduled for October, so your daily work should move toward Quant/Numerical Ability, Reasoning and English practice.

My Practical Advice for Candidates Applying Now

If you are eligible and were planning to appear for IBPS Clerk anyway, use the extended window to finish the form rather than spending several more days deciding whether to apply. The exam is competitive, but an application only gives you a chance to compete; preparation decides what you do with that chance.

At the same time, do not apply blindly because "11,403 vacancies" looks attractive. Check the State, category, language and qualification conditions properly. A careful application today can save unnecessary correction or eligibility problems later.
